3 cun lateral to the midline, level with the lower border of the spinous process of the sixth thoracic vertebra and level with UB-16 Dushu.
3 cun lateral to DU-10 Lingtai, at the level of the lower border of the spinous process of the sixth thoracic vertebra, on the spinal border of the scapula.

NEEDLING

Oblique insertion, 0.3-0.5 cun.
Caution: Deep perpendicular needling or deep oblique needling in a medial direction, carries a substantial risk of pneumothorax.
Slanted insertion, 0.5-0.8 cun.
Puncture obliquely downward, 0.3 to 0.5 cun.
Moxibustion is applicable.
