LOCATION

9 cun below ST-35 Dubi and one finger breadth from the anterior border of the tibia.
On the lower leg, 3 cun below ST-37 Shangjuxu or 9 cun below the knee.
Note: to locate this point, divide the distance between the tibiofemoral joint line (level with the popliteal crease) and the prominence of the lateral malleolus into two equal parts. The midpoint is ST-38 Tiaokou. This point is one cun below ST-38 Tiaokou.

NEEDLING

Puncture perpendicularly 0.5 to 1 cun.
Moxibustion is applicable.
Straight insertion 1 to 2 cun.
Perpendicular or oblique insertion 1 to 1.5 cun.
