LOCATION

In the depression in the center of the mentolabial groove.
Note: the mentolabial groove runs horizontally, approximately midway between the chin and the lower lip.

On the chin, in the depression below the middle of the lower lip.

NEEDLING

Puncture obliquely upward 0.2 to 0.3 cun.
Moxibustion is applicable.
Slanted insertion, directed upward, 0.3 to 0.5 cun. Sensation: local distention and pain.
Transverse-oblique insertion directed superiorly 0.2 to 0.3 cun.
Transverse insertion along the lower lip to join with ST-4 Dicang.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

NOTES

This is a good point if the REN channel is stuck or traumatized. Good for patients who are mentally or physically withered. It causes fluid secretions to flow freely and enhances the Spirit and mind. It is mostly used for Exterior Wind affecting the face. It is good for the treatment of psychosis and epilepsy.
