YUNMEN

LOCATION

On the antero-lateral aspect of the chest, below the lateral extremity of the clavicle, 6 cun lateral to the midline, in the center of the hollow of the delto-pectoral triangle.
At the inferior margin of the clavicle, between the pectoralis major and deltoid muscles.
In the superior lateral part of the anterior thoracic wall, superior to the coracoid process of the scapula, in the depression of the infraclavicular fossa, 6 cun lateral to the anterior midline.

NEEDLING

Transverse-oblique insertion, 0.5 to 1 cun.
Caution: deep perpendicular or oblique insertion carries a substantial risk of causing a pneumothorax.
Slanted insertion 0.5 to 1 cun.
Puncture obliquely 0.5 to 0.8 cun towards the lateral aspect of the chest. To avoid puncturing the Lung, never needle deeply towards the medial aspect.
Moxibustion is applicable.
