At the wrist, between the tendons of the palmaris longus and flexor carpi radialis, level with HT-7 Shenmen.
Note: in the absence of the tendons of the palmaris longus, locate this point on the ulnar side of the tendon of the flexor carpi radialis.
In the depression in the middle of the transverse crease of the wrist between the tendons of the palmaris longus and flexor carpi radialis.
With the hand supine, this point can be found at the midpoint of the transverse crease of the wrist.
NEEDLING
Perpendicular insertion 0.3 to 0.5 cun.
Oblique distal insertion along the carpal tunnel for carpal tunnel syndrome, 0.5 to 1 cun.
Caution: the median nerve lies directly beneath this point. Needling commonly produces a significant electric sensation. This is acceptable, but one elicited, further manipulation is inappropriate and may damage the nerve.
Perpendicular insertion 0.3 to 0.5 cun, causing local distention and soreness or a numb, electric sensation extending toward the finger tips.
Slanted insertion, needle pointed into the Blood vessels of the wrist, for vascular syndrome of the wrist, causing local distention and pain or possibly a numb, electric sensation extending toward the finger tips.
Moxibustion is applicable.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
NOTES
This is a main point to treat insomnia. This point is able to reduce excess Fire from the Pericardium. It is used whenever Heat rises to disturb the Shen. This is the principle point for the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome. This a specific point to calm sexual tension. This point clears sore spots on the chest from emotional blockages. It is generally used as a reducing point.
