With the patient lying supine, this point can be found about 1 cun below the inguinal ligament, lateral to the femoral artery at the place where its pulse can be found.

NEEDLING

Straight insertion, needle pointed slightly laterally, 1-1.5 cun, causing local distention and soreness or an electric numb sensation extending toward the knee.
Caution: Do not insert the needle into the femoral artery.
