Ren Shen, Shan Yao and Du Zhong: Tonifying the kidney-qi.
Dang Gui and Shu Di: Tonifying blood and nourishing yin.
Shan Yu Rou and Gou Qi: Tonifying the kidney, supplementing blood and essence.
Gan Cao: Tempering the actions of all the other ingredients.
